With the development application approved and the starting of physical activity at the South East Regional Hospital site in Bega interest in purchasing nearby real estate has been sparked. Denis Stewart of Fisk & Nagle First Choice Real Estate Bega reports strong enquiry from the medical fraternity for properties in Bega, particularly at the Glen Mia estate, which is situated opposite the new hospital site. The development of the hospital is expected to bring many benefits to the area. The Minister for Health Jillian Skinner MP states “The new hospital will be able to meet the growing demand for health and hospital services in this thriving regional area. The expansion of services that will be delivered will help attract and retain a highly skilled and motivated workforce.”
There is also a strong demand for investment properties in Bega, as investors purchase properties for permanent rental opportunities in the township. Houses in Bega are maintaining a steady purchase price, typically $280,000 to $320,000 for a three or four bedroom brick home. The Glen Mia estate, on the outskirts of the Bega township, has seen an increase in real estate prices and property prices are currently around $380,000 to $420,000 for a three or four bedroom brick home. Properties for sale in rural areas such as Brogo, Wolumla, Springvale, Black Range, Candelo and Reedy Swamp have seen a slight decrease in price, but significant real estate enquiry has been forthcoming from Canberra, with purchasers seeking small acreage properties.
This week a breakthrough property sale was made in Kalaru when a 25 acre property with two houses sold for $600,000. The property had been on the market for over three years. To enquire about purchasing real estate in Bega and surrounds or listing your property contact Denis Stewart on 02 6492 5155.
